Tuesday- The day after monday. The weekends still seem so far away.
Anyway, Japan.
Japan was always a must visit country for me purely for its touristy appeal. Disney land, bullet trains, weird dressing teenagers, vending machines that sell everything and amazing toilet bowls. Yes, Japan brings out the tourist in me.
Its strange that with the flight to Japan coming up soon, I don't feel like a tourist at all.
Instead I am left feeling afraid and uncertain about going to a place where telling your Christian testimony will be made impossibly hard by the language barrier.
A place where only 0.1% of the 120 million people there are Christians. Where conformity is not a choice, it is a moral obligation. Where being and staying Christian is almost impossible, idol worship still exists among 'Christians' and morality is what society says.
Please pray that we will be effective ( no matter how small the scale) in encouraging the Christians in Japan.
And that we'll be good houseguests with the family we're staying with. I'm with Mrs Sawatari ( high school English teacher ) + Miss Tomoda ( a cram school teacher).
Also that communication within the team will be good ( with little rest, tempers may flare).
That being said
the little peace waving, photo taking tourist part of me is getting really excited about soaking up everything in Japan ( the land of neoprints and anime)! =)
